They also have yellow and red patches on their shoulders. Amazons are famous for their affectionate nature and are a great addition to any family. Temperament - Blue-Fronted Amazons are incredibly intelligent and affectionate. Males can be particularly difficult after they reach sexual maturity, especially during molts. A grey will gorge on Sunflower seeds to the neglect of more nutritious food. greys need extra calcium, as they are unable to store it in their bones.
